Meet my new fabulous ring called “Cresting wave”. I got this ocean Jasper in mixed parcel from an opal miner from Florida. I cut several stones from it and they have been waiting for settings. This is the first ring from that material called “Cresting Wave”. It is set in silver. Expertly set by the resident Smith. I engraved markings on the shank to echo the stone and also the disappearing marks made by foam on the seashore. I have an affinity for the sea, because I was born on an island. I like to think this ring is like having a little bit of the ocean with you wherever you go. It’s a perfect picture stone. It’s a big ring, Z + 1.
